Is Bad Breath A Sign Of Cancer?

 

Yes, it is. Cancer is a disease that affects the cells in the body. The cell is the smallest unit of life in the human body, hence, when cancer strikes the cells, it automatically affects the body system causing it to change and dwindle rapidly or gradually in most cases. There are various types of cancer as written above, for cancer such as LIVER CANCER, a breath test can be used to detect cancer. Usually when the breath is having a stale odor one is advised to see the doctor. Also when the breath produces ammonia like odor, medical tests should be conducted to detect the presence of cancer.

WHAT IS CANCER?

The word Cancer is a broad term. It is used to describe the disease that results when cellular changes cause the uncontrolled growth and division of cells in the body of an organism. Cancer  is also a group of diseases involving abnormal cell  growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body.

There are various types of cancer, but the most common type of cancer in the United States is breast cancer, followed by lung and prostate cancers, according to the National Cancer Institute(NCI). The various types of cancer are;

Bladder cancer

THYROID CANCER

Thyroid cancer develops from the tissues of the thyroid gland. It is a disease in which cells grow abnormally and have the potential to spread to other parts of the body. Symptoms can include swelling or a lump in the neck. Cancer can also occur in the thyroid after spread from other locations, in which case it is not classified as thyroid cancer. The four main types are papillary thyroid cancer, follicular thyroid cancer, medullary thyroid cancer, and anaplastic thyroid cancer. Diagnosis is often based on ultrasound and fine needle aspiration.

PANCREATIC CANCER

Pancreatic cancer arises when cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a mass. Signs and symptoms of the most-common form of pancreatic cancer may include yellow skin, abdominal or back pain, unexplained weight loss, light-colored stools, dark urine, and loss of appetite. There are usually no symptoms in the disease’s early stages, and symptoms that are specific enough to suggest pancreatic cancer typically do not develop until the disease has reached an advanced stage.

LIVER CANCER

Liver cancer, also known as hepatic cancer and primary hepatic cancer, is cancer that starts in the liver.

KIDNEY CANCER

Kidney cancer, also known as renal cancer, is a group of cancers that starts in the kidney. Symptoms may include blood in the urine, lump in the abdomen, or back pain. Fever, weight loss, and tiredness may also occur. Complications can include spread to the lungs or brain.

LEUKEMIA

Leukemia, also spelled leukemia, is a group of blood cancers that usually begin in the bone marrow and result in high numbers of abnormal blood cells.  These blood cells are not fully developed and are called blasts or leukemia cells. Symptoms may include bleeding and bruising, feeling tired, fever, and an increased risk of infections.

BLADDER CANCER

Bladder cancer is any of several types of cancer arising from the tissues of the urinary bladder. It is a disease in which cells grow abnormally and have the potential to spread to other parts of the body. Symptoms include blood in the urine, pain with urination, and low back pain.
